Velichko, Alexander Grigorievich

Alexander Grigoryevich Velichko (b. 05.19.1952, Dnepropetrovsk ) - Ukrainian scientist and metallurgist. Doctor of Technical Sciences (1994), Professor (1996), Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine (2009). Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine (2000).

Biography

Born May 19, 1952 in Dnepropetrovsk . In 1974 he graduated from DMETI , where he continued to work as an assistant, assistant professor, professor at the Department of Steel Metallurgy. In 1979 he defended his thesis, and in 1994 - his doctorate. Since 1988, he has been the dean of the academy, since 1996 - vice-rector, since 1997 - the first vice-rector, and since 2001 - rector [1] .

Since 2005, he heads the council of rectors of the region.

Scientific activity

His research interests are the fundamental foundations of metallurgical production, the development of practical recommendations for a constructive and technological direction. The author of more than 500 scientific and educational works, including 50 inventions, 6 textbooks, 8 monographs [1] .
