History
The musical school of wind and percussion instruments was opened on October 1, 1990 [1] . At first, the teaching staff consisted of two teachers: Trefilov Vladimir Mikhailovich (director of the school) and Pupysheva Marina Anatolyevna. At the moment, the teaching staff of the school is 34 teachers and accompanists [2] .

The school twice participated in the Delphic Games: in Saratov (Diploma of the I degree) and in Smolensk (Bronze medal) [3] . In 2002, the school won the regional competition "Best School of the Year". Lecturer Vasiliev A.P. took first place in the regional competition "Teacher of the Year 2004". The student of the teacher Elkina M.I. - Ivan Karavaev - became a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. During the existence of the school, four pupils of children's music schools were determined by fellows of the Vyatka Culture Fund [4] .
There are 3 departments in the wind school (wind, piano, choreographic), a guitar class and a pop vocal class. To date, the school has created 17 creative teams:
- Exemplary concert and brass band (under the direction of the Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Trefilov)
- Exemplary pop-jazz orchestra (conducted by Mikhail Elkin)
- Exemplary choreographic ensemble “KristAliK” (leader - Kristina Chekhonina)
- Exemplary children's pop-show group “Baby band” (leader - Evgenia Lyutina) and others.
Graduates
Over 25 years, 575 students graduated from the school. 62 of them became professional musicians:
- Denis Shebukhov, Lecturer at the University of Michigan in the USA (Eng. Western Michigan University )
- Yuri Yelkin, teacher of the Kazan State Conservatory named after N. G. Zhiganov
- David Tkebuchava, jazz drummer
- Sergey Novokshenov, military conductor
- Mikhail Demekhin, military conductor
- Alexander Malyutin, military conductor
- Anton Malyutin, military conductor
- Sergey Ponomarev, trumpeter, entertainer Oleg Lundstrem
