Biography

He received his initial musical education from his father. In 1947 he graduated from the Academy of Music in Sofia in conducting and composition classes with Konstantin Lambert and A. Dimitrov. He began performing on stage since 1933 as a pianist and violinist solo, in ensemble and as an accompanist. In 1950-1955 - conductor of the symphony orchestra and opera house in Ruse. In 1956-1962 and since 1974 he was the chief conductor of the Plovdiv Symphony Orchestra, in 1962-1963 - the Sofia Folk Opera , in 1962-1969 - the Sofia Philharmonic (the first in its history). He toured a lot abroad, including in the USSR . He included works by Bulgarian composers in the program.
