Koshkarkol [1] ( Uyaly [2] ; kaz. Koshkarkul ) is a fresh lake in the southeast of Kazakhstan in the Alakol depression at an altitude of 349.8 m above sea level. It is located between the Sasykkol and Alakol lakes, and together with them it belongs to the Alakol group of lakes. Area 120 km², length 18.3 km, width 9.6 km. The average depth is 4.07 m, the greatest depth is 5.8 m, the volume is 0.5 km³. The coastline is 57.3 km long. The main tributary is the Topkaya River (иниiniskesu), flowing from the Sasykkol Lake.

Description
Lake Koshkarkol stretches from north to south; the shores are low, marshy, composed of loam , clay , sand and pebble material. Mineralization of water varies from 0.85 to 1.16 g / l during the year, the composition of sulfate-chloride-magnesium. Ledostavit from November to April. Muskrat lives on the coast; from birds are found goose , cormorant , pelican , swan , heron .
The name Uyaly comes from the Kazakh word "uya" - a nest, that is, "uyaly" - having a nest) [2] . Presumably due to the large number of birds in the reed coastal thickets [2] .
