General information
The volost government was located in the village of Manatskaya [1] .
The volost included rural societies , including 62 villages: [2]
- Krivozersky society
- Desert society
- Pyazhezersky society
- Syargozersky society
- Shimozersky 1st society
- Shimozersky 2nd society
In 1890, the population of the volost was 2698 people [3] .
In 1905, the population of the volost was 3,540 people. In the volost there were 557 horses, 933 cows and 1537 heads of other livestock.
During the reform of the administrative-territorial division of the USSR in 1927, the volost was abolished.
Currently, the territory of Shimozersky volost refers mainly to the Vytegorsky district of the Vologda region .
