“One Missed Call” ( 着 信 ア リ Chakushin ari) is a 2003 Japanese horror film directed by Takashi Miike , based on the eponymous work by Yasushi Akimoto . The international premiere of the film took place on November 3, 2003 at the Tokyo Film Festival , in Russia on August 26, 2004 .

In 2005, a 10-episode series of the same name and the full-length sequel “The Second Missed Call ” were released for the film. In 2006, the third part was released , and in 2008 - an American remake .

Story
Under mysterious circumstances, several young people die. Shortly before death, they all received messages on mobile phones, during the reproduction of which the words uttered by their own voices are heard, shortly before their death. Girl Yumi - the last of the survivors - and former policeman Hiroshi begin their own investigation to prevent terrible events. Hiroshi discovers that after the death from the victims' cell phones, the same number was always called. Step by step approaching the clue, Yumi and Hiroshi learn a lot about the woman who owns the mysterious number, and then they face a real nightmare. But suspicions of who committed the killings are ultimately erroneous ...
