Biography
Born in the family of a lawyer. Then the family moved to Yekaterinoslav. In 1929 he graduated from labor school.
He graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical Institute . By distribution, he was sent to the Stalingrad Tractor Plant , where he met the war. Upon returning to Dnepropetrovsk, he worked at the Dneprohyproshakht Institute. Already there he was entrusted with editing the large circulation of the institution.
In the 1960s, he became director of the Dnepropetrovsk book publishing house, then called Promin . For a long time he headed the publishing house "Sich".
Once, I accidentally put a kettle on some folder lying in the kitchen, ”Krylova’s wife recalled. - The husband shouted terribly: “This is a manuscript, this is human labor! How can you! ” [1]
In the last years of his life he was ill after a fall and spinal injury. He lived in Dnepropetrovsk at the address: Pushkin Avenue, 37.
Wife Valentina Vasilievna, daughter Marina (b. 1964). I met my wife at the Promin publishing house, where she got to work after graduating from Moscow State University.
Creative activity
He is the author of books for children “How the Rooster Was Treated”, “Vasily the Cat”, fable collections “The Brave Hare”, “Satirical Brook”. The most famous poems: “Cat Basil”, “Sick rooster with a sore throat”, “Who is wandering around in the garden?” It's me, Methodius the goat. "
The poet Alexei Krylov did not consider himself and wrote only a couple of dozen fables and several poems for children, the latter, however, gained great popularity during his lifetime [1] . Fame brought him a collection of children's poems "Cat Basil" (1955).
His poems have been translated into several languages, in particular into German, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Czech. For some of his poems cartoons were shot.
