Club career
Pereira is a graduate of the Corinthians Club. On August 23, 2015, in the match against Cruzeiro , he made his debut in the Brazilian Serie A , replacing Jadson in the second half [2] . On August 27, Mattheus first appeared in the starting lineup in the Brazilian Cup vs. Santos match [3] . In his debut season, he became the champion of Brazil.
In the summer of 2016, Pereira moved to the Italian Empoli [4] , as an adaptation before moving to Juventus [5] . November 6 in the match against Pescara , he debuted in the Italian Serie A [6] . In early 2017, Mateus joined the Juventus on loan.
In the summer of the same year, in order to get a game practice, Mateus went on loan to French Bordeaux [7] [8] .
International Career
In 2015, as part of the Brazilian youth team, Pereira won the South American Youth Championship in Paraguay. At the tournament he played in matches against teams of Venezuela [9] , Ecuador [10] , Peru [11] , Uruguay [12] , and also twice Paraguay [13] [14] and Colombia [15] [16] .
