- Born May 13, 1928 in Masai
- In 1949 he got married.
- In 1952, he opened his agricultural production company, SAIMSA (Masai Industrial Agricultural Services).
- Arrested on October 20, 1981 for violating censorship laws (for criticizing the regime of Daniel Ortega
- In July 1982, he was arrested and sent to prison.
- He won the 1996 vice president election.
- January 10, 1997 - sworn in.
- He won the 2001 presidential election.
- January 10, 2002 - sworn in.
- January 12, 2002 - launched a campaign against corruption, which resulted in the arrest and conviction of the predecessor of Bolanos Arnoldo Aleman .
