Currently, the village is mainly gasified. Near the village grows mixed forest.
Geography
Tautovo is located 10 km to the southwest of the administrative center of Alikovo . Nearby is the Cheboksary - Alikovo - Raskildino highway.
Climate
The climate is temperate continental with long cold winters and warm summers. The average January temperature is –12.9 ° C, July is 18.3 ° C, the absolute minimum reached −44 ° C, the absolute maximum is 37 ° C. The average annual rainfall is 552 mm.

According to the most linguistically substantiated etymology, the word Tautovo comes from the name of an unbaptized Chuvash who settled in these lands.
Demographics
According to the census of 1781-82, 55 audit souls lived in the village.
By 1859, there were 66 courtyards, 175 men, 190 women in the village. In 1897, 248 men and 235 women lived in the village. In 1907 Tautovo numbered 566 people, and by 1926 the village became the largest in the surrounding lands - with 128 yards and 642 inhabitants.
XIX century
In 1885 a parochial school was opened in Tautovo.
XX century
Until 1927, Tautovo was part of the Alikov volost of the Yadrinsk district. From November 1, 1927, the village was part of Alikovsky district, and on December 20, 1962 it was included in the Vurnarsky district. From March 14, 1965 - again in Alikovsky district. In 1974 , a new school building was opened, in 1977 a new House of Culture and a library were opened.

The collective farm "Tautovo", the main place of work of the villagers, collapsed.
