Line D (Rotterdam Metro)

Line D is the first line in chronology, but the fourth line in order in the Rotterdam Metro . It was opened in 1968 . It has 17 stations on 21 kilometers of track. The diagrams are indicated in blue or turquoise color.

History

The first section of line D was opened on February 9, 1968 . Then the line was called the North-South line (Noord-Zuidlijn). The line ran from Rotterdam Central Station to Zuidplein Station. That section consisted of 7 stations, of which 4 were underground.

The first expansion to one station took place on November 25, 1970 . This station is called Sling .

The next expansion to four stations took place on October 25, 1974 between the Slinge and Salmplaat stations .

The fourth section was opened on April 25, 1985 between the Zalmplat and De Akkers stations. The plot consists of 3 stations.

In the first section, the station Wilheminaplein opens. The station opened on June 4, 1997 .

Also in 1997, the line changed its name to Erasmuslijn.

The last seventeenth station in the third section - Tussenwater opens on November 4, 2002 .

The line changes its name again, now to the present. The renaming took place on December 13, 2009 .

Wagons

Since 2002, trains of the 5300 series have been fully used. Since 2014, trains of the 5600 series are also used.
