Biography
The eldest son of Henry II von Nassau (c. 1270–1343), Count Nassau- Siegen (1328–1343), and Adelheida (d. 1351), daughter of Dietrich I von Gainsberg.
In 1343, after the death of Count Henry II von Nassau, his possessions were divided between his two sons. The eldest of the brothers, Otto II, received possession of Nassau-Dillenburg, and the youngest, Henry I von Nassau (1307-1388), inherited Nassau-Beilstein.
Otto von Nassau was married to Adelgeide von Vianden , the daughter of Philip von Vianden and Adelgeida von Arnsberg. They had four children:
- Adelheida Nassau (d. 1381), nun and abbess
- Johann I of Nassau (c. 1339-1416), Count of Nassau-Dillenburg, married to Margaret von der Mark
- Heinrich Nassau (d. 1402), canon in Cologne Cathedral
- Otto of Nassau (died 1384), canon and vice rector in St. Moritz in Mainz, then canon in the cathedrals of Cologne and Mainz
