Artemis-2

Artemis-2 ( Eng. Artemis-2) is NASA's first planned manned mission for the Orion spacecraft , which is supposed to be launched using the Super Launch Space Launch System (Rus. Space Launch Systems ). The mission's goal is to fly around the moon. NASA plans this mission for around 2023.

Earlier in 2017, it was planned that the mission, in addition to the manned orbiting of the Moon by the Orion spacecraft, will carry out the first module of the Gateway near-moon station, and plans were further revised. Previously, one of the initial plans was that a manned spacecraft would make an experimental flight of a captured asteroid in lunar orbit . [1] This may happen for the first time since December 1972, when people last left Earth orbit on the Apollo 17 ship for the last time. At the end of 2018, the production of the case for ORION Artemis-2 capsule was completed [2] .
