Specially protected natural territories of the Pskov region as of October 2016 included 41 objects, not counting the Pskov-Peipsi low-lying lowlands protected by the Ramsar Convention . Sebezhsky National Park , Polistovsky Reserve and Remdovsky Reserve are objects of federal significance. In addition, 28 objects of regional significance were established in the region, of which 11 are nature reserves of a zoological profile (another 12 reserves were liquidated in 2006 [1] ) and 17 are nature monuments ( the Zaozerye tract received the status of a nature monument last in 2016 [2 ] [3] ), as well as 10 specially protected natural areas of local importance [4] .

Federal Protected Areas
The Remdovsky Reserve is located on the eastern shore of Lake Pskov-Peipsi in the Gdovsk and Pskov regions and covers an area of 747.12 km². It was established on July 12, 1985 and is a reserve of hunting fauna, as well as a place of restoration of rare and endangered species [5] .
In the east of the region, in the Bezhanitsky district, there is the Polistovsky Reserve , formed on May 25, 1994 simultaneously with the neighboring Rdeisky Reserve in the Novgorod Region in order to preserve and study sphagnum bogs [6] . The area of the Polistovsky Reserve is 379.83 km².
511.83 km² in the south-west of the Sebezhsky district occupies the territory of the Sebezhsky national park , which was established on January 8, 1996 and aims to preserve the natural complex of the southern part of the Pskov region [7] .
