Biography
Born in Moscow, in the family of a doctor. Mother, Lyudmila Fedorovna Nekrasova, died after World War II. After graduating from school, he worked as a fitter and technician at the Moscow tram station. In 1926 he moved to Murmansk and entered a fishing boat as a sailor . Then he went on various vessels in the Far North and Far East. In 1933 he graduated from the Vladivostok Naval College of the People's Commissariat of the Navy of the USSR . In the same year, he was appointed deputy head of the marine department of the Dalmorzverprom trust.
It was published since 1928 . The most famous of his works was the humorous story " The Adventures of Captain Vrungel ", subsequently filmed several times. The main character of the work was Captain Vrungel , "Soviet Baron Munchausen " - an experienced sailor who talks about his amazing travels and adventures around the world.
From April 1942, he was an ordinary on the Western Front, and from the fall of 1942, he was an employee of a front-line newspaper. Member of the joint venture of the USSR since 1943. Since November 1943 - in the reserve of GlavPUR in Moscow.
On April 14, 1944, while working in the newspaper with the rank of lieutenant, he was sentenced by the Military Tribunal of the Rostov-on-Don garrison to 3 years in prison. [one]
After the war he returned to literary work, was a member of the editorial boards of the journal "Pioneer" and the literary and artistic almanac "Ocean". The author of several non-fiction books.
He played professionally in football for the club "Wings of the Soviets."
He died on February 15, 1987 , in the 80th year of his life. The writer is buried in Moscow at the Vagankovsky cemetery .
