Story
After completing their service in the Red Army, the “red devils” Misha, Tom and Dunyasha, as well as the daughter of the miller Oksana, get a job in Baku at the laboratory of one of the oil industry enterprises. In the course of the film, a series of shots appear that describe in detail the origin of oil, its chemical composition, etc. Dunyasha and Oksana meet wives from the harem of the fraudster Usseynov and convince them to leave it in order to build a new life in the Soviet state themselves. Usseynov decides to take revenge: he abducts Dunyasha and Oksana and takes them to the uninhabited island of Illan Dilli, located near the Turkish border (Snake Sting). There, according to his plan, they were to die of hunger and thirst. However, Misha and Tom, with the help of border guards, manage to free the girls. Meanwhile, Tom begins to have romantic feelings for Dunyasha. Two pairs are formed - Misha and Oksana and Tom and Dunyasha. At the end of the film, the heroes decide what names to give their children.

Criticism
In general, like the rest of the series that came out after The Red Devils, Illan-Dili was received coolly by Soviet critics. It was noted that all the sequels of “Devils” are significantly inferior to the first film, they were reproached for the lack of a clear storyline, self-repetitions and tricks for the sake of tricks [1] [2] . As V.S. Kolodyazhnaya wrote, “the new paintings [...] represented a meaningless set of incidents devoid of both the necessary life credibility and any meaningful thought, idea, or that exciting atmosphere that gained recognition for the“ Red Devils ”. [...] In the last film of this cycle - “Ilan-Dili” (“Snake Sting”) - “devils” again become the main characters. The film reproduces stories about harems and abductions, which in many ways duplicated similar situations of a bourgeois adventure film ” [3] .
