After graduating from high school, Rudolf Kloosterman studied at Gallsky , Bonn and Berlin universities . He worked in the Prussian service in the mining department and was a professor at the University of Bonn . Klosterman took an active part in the development of the mining regulations adopted later in Prussia and in the movement that preceded the imperial law on privileges on inventions. His main works are: Das allgemeine Berggesetz für die preussischen Staaten (Berlin, 1866 ; 5th ed., 1893); Das geistige Eigentum (Berlin, 1867), Patentgesetzgebung aller Länder ( 1869 ; 2 ed., 1876); Lehrbuch des preussischen Bergrechts (Berlin, 1871); Das Urheberrecht an Schrift und Kunstwerken (Berlin, 1876); Das Patentgesetz für das deutsche Reich von 25 Mai 1877 (Berlin, 1877) and others.
