Fritsche Closener is a 14th-century Alsatian chronicler . He was a priest of the Strasbourg Cathedral; known for its chronicle of the city of Strasbourg , giving a vivid picture of the German city of the XIV century [2] . Published by Hegel's Chroniken der Deutschen Städte ( 1870 ).

Frice's father was Sifrid, a resident of Strasbourg, and his mother was Margareta Spirer. From 1343, Frice was the custodian of the marientaltar in Strasbourg Cathedral , where he later served as vicar of a large choir. In 1358, he received a prestigious award from the chapel of St. Catherine [3] .
His most famous work is the Strasbourg Chronicle, written in German. He finished this work on July 8, 1362, on the day of the Strasbourg earthquake [2] .
Frice also compiled a German-Latin dictionary [3] .
