In 1848, Klitspera was a member of the "People's Choice" (national committee) and actively worked on the reform of public education; later was the director of the gymnasium in Prague. He wrote at least 50 comedies and tragedies, for which he took plots from history and modern life; He is considered one of the first to give a solid foundation to the Czech scene. He also wrote historical stories.
