Distribution
New Guinea Island: Papua New Guinea (Gulf and Morobe Provinces, Marawaka, Andakombe Village towards Morobe, 07 ° 08.96'S; 145 ° 45.48'E, at an altitude of 1000 m) [1] .
Description
Small water bugs of a reddish-brown color, length about 4 mm (from 3.5 to 4.1 mm), rounded oval elongated body shape; matte. Antennae 11-segmented. The wings are well developed. Associated with water. The species was first described in 2016 by Austrian coleopterologist Elena Vladimirovna Shaverdo ( Helena Vladimirovna Shaverdo ; Naturhistorisches Museum Wien , Vienna , Austria ) and German entomologist M. Balke ( Michael Balke ; Zoologische Staatssammlung München , Munich Germany ). The species name is given at the place of detection of the type series [1] [2] .
