Chi Psi ( ΧΨ ) is a student male (there are also female) secret society (fraternity), which includes members from 31 American colleges and universities. The mission of the fraternity is to create and maintain stable ties in the community, exchange traditions and moral values, respect for their colleagues and responsibility to their university and the entire community.

Secret Brotherhood ΧΨ was founded on May 20, 1841 by ten Union College students with the idea of emphasizing the brotherly and social principles of the brotherhood. It became the eighth fraternity organized in the United States. This was the first community to use Greek letters in its name. In 1854, it was also the first to create the North American fraternity and sorority housing association. The headquarters was at the University of Michigan .
