He began his professional career in 2010 as part of the Continental Footon β Servetto β Fuji team, with which he immediately took part in the Tour de France , where he was the youngest rider. In 2012 he moved to Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela and won the Giro dell'Appennino, ahead of the finish line with a group of 20 riders.
After two seasons on the mainland, Androni Giocattoli β Venezuela joined the Trek Factory Racing World Tour team . Fabio won his first victory in the new team at the end of March 2015, it was the Furmi Grand Prix . A month later, stage 2 of the Basque Country Tour wins, beating Michael Matthews at the finish line. In 2016, he takes the Points classification in the Vuelta of Spain .
