Biography
In the Red Army since 1939. In 1941 he graduated from the Belotserkovsky machine-gun shooting school .
Member of World War II. In 1941, the commander of a rifle platoon, the commander of the 2nd rifle company, the battalion commander of 129 rifle regiment 93 of the East Siberian rifle division of 43 armies. Since 1942, the commander of the 1st battalion of the 878th infantry regiment of the 290th infantry division of the 10th army, the deputy commander of the 878th infantry regiment, the commander of the ski battalion. Since May 1943, deputy commander of the 885th Red Banner Rifle Regiment, commander of the 882th Rifle Regiment, commander of the 885th Rifle Regiment, deputy head of retraining courses for command personnel. Since March 1944, the commander of the 878th Rifle Red Banner Regiment of the 290th Rifle Mogilev Red Banner Division . He fought on the Western, 2nd Belorussian fronts. Member of the battle of Moscow, the Belarusian strategic offensive operation of 1944, the liberation of eastern Poland, East Prussian and Berlin operations. During the Mogilev offensive operation, he participated in forcing Prony , Resta, Dnieper, and the liberation of Mogilev. He was seriously wounded in October 1941, shell-shocked in 1942.
After the war, he continued to serve in the Soviet Army . In 1954 he graduated from the Military Academy named after M.V. Frunze , in 1961 - Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR .
From June 1961 to August 1964 he was the first deputy commander of the 18th Guards Army in the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany [1] , from August 1964 - in the same position in the 20th Guards Army . Since December 1964 - the commander of the 20th Guards Army in the GSVG. Since May 1968 - First Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany .
From May 1969 to December 1978 - the commander of the troops of the Siberian Military District . From December 1978 to 1985 - Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces for combat training - Head of the Main Directorate of Combat Training of the Ground Forces.
In 1987, he was a military consultant to the Group of Inspectors General of the USSR Ministry of Defense . Since November 1987 - retired.
Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 8th and 9th convocations (1970-1979).
He lived in Moscow. The author of memoirs.
Honorary citizen of the city of Mogilev (02.17.1982) [2] .
