The wedge ( Greek Κλεινιάς ; 4th century BC ) is from Tarentum , a Pythagorean and contemporary of Philolaus , the imaginary author of a later work: “On Holiness and Piety”. According to Diogenes of Laertes , who refers to Aristoxen , Klienius, together with another Pythagorean, Amikl of Heracles, dissuaded Plato from burning the works of Democritus . [one]

Wedge was described as a person of exemplary behavior and disposition. [2] According to Spintar, he put off all exhortations and punishments until he restored his peace of mind. [3] Like the legendary Achilles , Klein reassured himself by playing the lyre . [four]
Like other Pythagoreans, Klien was characterized by the support of his fellows. So he went to Cyrene to help Proor Kirensky, knowing about him only that he was a Pythagorean. He helped Proor, notwithstanding the reduction of his own wealth and not avoiding a dangerous journey. [5] [6]
His dictum is quoted by Plutarch :
Olympic responded to this: “I really like what the Pythagorean Klien said. When asked what time it is preferable to meet with his wife, he replied:“ When will you most of all want to harm yourself? ” [7]
