Biography
Pavel Volkov was born on June 17 (29), 1897 in the village of Povorino (now the city, the regional center in the Voronezh region ).
At the age of 22 he began working as an agronomist and at the same time he studied at the courses of theatrical art in Saratov . After graduating from courses in 1923, he worked in theaters in various cities.
Starting in 1934 , Pavel Volkov starred in movies. In 1943, by order of the Committee on Arts, Pavel Volkov was seconded by the theater to the city of Alma-Ata for filming the Vasiliev brothers' Front film, after which in 1944 he returned to Leningrad and was accepted to the Lenfilm film studio staff.
In 1949, in connection with the liquidation of the state, Volkov was transferred to Moscow, to the Theater actor’s studio , where he worked until 1963. On the stage of this theater they played Dosaev in “Three Soldiers”, Levkoev in “Sofia Kovalevskaya”, Vanyushin in “Vanyushin Children”, Love Tortsov in “Poverty is not a vice” and other roles.
In the movie, Pavel Volkov most often performed positive characters endowed with wisdom and life experience.
