Gardening Coast - embankment along the left (northern) bank of the Drainage Canal in the Zamoskvorechye area of the Central Administrative District of the city of Moscow . It lies between the Pig-iron bridge ( Baltschug Street ) and the Small Krasnokholmsky bridge (the Garden Ring ). The numbering of houses is from the cast-iron bridge. In addition to the bridges mentioned, the embankment is connected to the southern bank of the Canal by the Commissariat Bridge and the Pedestrian Sadovnichesky Bridge and Zverev Bridge . Until 1922, the section from Sadovnichesky Lane to the Garden Ring bore the name of Osipovskaya Embankment, and a part from Balchug to Sadovnichesky Lane was called Kulakovskaya Embankment. It is connected to Sadovnicheskaya Street and Komissariatsky Sadovnichesky lanes.

Origin of title
From the palace suburb Nizhny Sadovniki, located to the east of the street Baltschug.
Notable buildings and structures
Ustyinsky passage and Komissariatsky bridge divide the embankment into two independent parts. West (from Balchug to Komissariatskogo bridge) - completely uninhabited. East - a mixture of remnants of historic residential buildings, military institutions in buildings of the XIX century and offices on the site of the former Krasnokholmsky worsted combine . The presence of the military in this part of the island probably holds back the onslaught of modern construction.
Despite the fact that the Sadovnicheskaya Embankment is located on the territory of the protected zone, any urban planning activity within which is subject to strict regulation, at the beginning of the XXI century the embankment became an attractive object for developers: despite public protests, many historic buildings here were demolished or rebuilt as offices.

According to the results of the tragedy, the city administration gave permission to demolish both this house and its neighbor, built in the style of an Italian palazzo, with imitation of rustic wood . In June 2019, Alexei Navalny published an investigation in which he told the story of the demolition of these houses and the erection of buildings in their place unlike the former ones, and that instead of waiting lists, new officials in the new buildings were bought by cheap officials close to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin [3] [4] .
