Biography

Born January 29, 1970 in Ivanovo . In childhood, he moved to Tula with his parents, where at the age of 12 he began to seriously engage in sports - initially swimming. However, Igor Aleksandrovich Akimov persuaded to go to volleyball, thereby becoming his first coach in this sport [5] .

In 1986, Sogrin received an invitation to the Leningrad Avtomobilist club, which was headed by an outstanding coach Vyacheslav Platonov . Oleg Sogrin spoke for Avtomobilist (Leningrad, later St. Petersburg ) from 1988 to 1996. He became a two-time champion of Russia , silver and bronze medalist of the USSR championship , holder of the USSR Cup and the European Cup .

In 1996-2002, Oleg Sogrin played in non-CIS clubs [6] . Initially, he signed a contract with the volleyball club Cannes (France). A year later he left for Italy, where he played two seasons. In 1999, he moved to the Greek club Aris. Before returning to Russia, he returned to Italy, moving to the Livorno club.

In 2002, Sogrin signed a contract with the Yaroslavl "Oilman". Subsequently, he played for Iskra (Odintsovo), ZSK- Gazprom (Surgut) and again for Neftyanik. As part of Iskra, Oleg Sogrin became the silver medalist of the EKB Champions League.

In 1993, he played for the Russian national team. The debut match for her was held on May 29, 1993 in Moscow as part of the World League . In September 1993 he became the bronze medalist of the European Championship in Finland.

In 2009, at the end of the player’s career, he worked as a coach at the headquarters of the second Russian team [7] .

From autumn 2009 to the present, he has been the head coach of the Dynamo-Leningrad Oblast volleyball club. In this post he spent with the team over 300 matches, thereby setting a club record [8] .
