From 2012 to 2014, there were up to three LCK draws per season. A modern format with the identification of two champions for each cycle of the World Championship in League of Legends has developed since 2015 , at the same time a ban was imposed on the ownership of more than one team in the league by one organization.
The LCK season begins in January with the regular spring split season and ends in August with the grand final of the summer split. The winner of the latter receives a League of Legends World Championship ticket as does the team that scored the maximum number of championship points for both parts of the season, and the four teams left behind in the ranking fight in the regional finals (carried out according to the King of the Hill system) for one place in the main international competition for LoL - as a result of 3 teams from LCK to Worlds . Each split consists of a promotion tournament (butt matches against teams from the Challengers Korea league), a regular season and a playoff. The champion of spring split since 2015 qualifies for the Mid-Season Invitational .
“ ROX Tigers ” are the current champions of the league, “ SK Telecom T1 " is the most titled LCK team.

History
In 2012, the League of Legends in South Korea surpassed Starcraft II in popularity - in the game of the MOBA genre, competitions began that were not deprived of the support of sponsors and broadcasters. One of such competitions was The Champions League from the cable channel OnGameNet with 16 teams [5] [6] . In the first two league splits, teams from other parts of the world took part - the Chinese “ World Elite ” [7] , as well as the organizations “ FnaticRaidCall ”, “ Counter Logic Gaming ” and “ Natus Vincere ” [8] .
At the beginning of season 5, organizations were forbidden to have 2 rosters in the LCK, which provoked a massive dissolution of the teams, and as a result, an outflow of players mainly in the LPL [9] .
League matches until May 2016 were held at the Jongsan e-sports stadium, which was located in the administrative district of the center of Seoul - Yongsan-gu [10] . The Seoul OGN e-Stadium, seating 800 spectators [11] , has become the new venue for the competition [12] .
