Biography

Born into a peasant family. He graduated from the Kotkozersk Zemstvo School, Petrozavodsk Mining School.

In 1912–1915, after graduating from the Petrozavodsk male teachers' seminary , he worked as a teacher in the rural school in the village of Vedlozero .

In the years 1915-1918 - in the army.

In 1918-1937 he worked in the public education system of Karelia . In 1937–1938, he was the editor of the Kirya Publishing House in Petrozavodsk.

In 1938-1950, researcher in the linguistics sector of the Karelian Research Institute of Culture . The main direction of scientific research is the morphology and phonetics of the Karelian dialects , the creation of a spelling dictionary and the primer. He made a significant contribution to the study of phonology and phonetics of the Karelian dialects.
