Ruslan Vladimirovich Mezentsev (born June 24, 1981 in Kirovograd ) is a Ukrainian gymnast, winner of the 2000 Olympic Games , Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine (2000).

Biography
In 1986, under the guidance of the Honored Trainer of Ukraine A. L. Yarovinsky, he began to engage in gymnastics in the specialized school for children and youth at the Olympic Reserve "Nadezhda". He graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education of Lugansk State Pedagogical Institute with a degree in Pedagogy and Methodology of Secondary Education. Physical education". He trained in the sports society Dynamo with Anatoly Shemyakin . [1] . In 1997 he was enrolled in the national team of Ukraine.
Winner of the World Cup among cadets in three types of the program of personal championship on shells ( Paris , 1997), silver medalist of the international tournament "Stars of the World" in exercises on the parallel bars ( Moscow ); bronze medalist of the World Youth Games (Moscow, 1998); winner of the international tournament "Stars of the World" in exercises on a horse (Moscow, 1999); winner of the World Summer Sports Games in team competitions (Moscow, 1999); silver medalist in team competitions at the XXVII Summer Olympic Games ( Sydney , 2000); World Championship bronze medal in team competitions ( Ghent , Belgium , 2001); gold of the championship of Ukraine in all-around; seventh place at the XXVIII Summer Olympic Games ( Athens , 2004).
He was awarded the Order of Merit, III degree (2000) [2] .
