Smagul Kusainovich Tokumtayev ( 1935 - January 2002 ) - a miner, a miner of a clearing face of the Gorbachev mine of the production association "Karagandaugol" of the Ministry of Coal Industry of the USSR, Karaganda region. Hero of Socialist Labor (1977). Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the 10th convocation. Honorary Miner of the USSR. Full holder of the Miner's Glory Mark.

Biography
After graduation, he worked as a conductor, a locomotive driver at the Kirov mine. He served in the Soviet Army (1954-1958), after which he returned to Karaganda, where he continued to work at the Kirov mine. He worked as an assistant machinist, machinist combine. Since 1963 - worked as a miner, a combine harvester in the area number 1 of mine number 31. He was appointed brigadier machinists.
During the 10th Five-Year Plan (1976–1980), Smagul Tokumtaev’s brigade annually overfulfilled the production plan. In 1977, he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor "for his outstanding achievements in fulfilling the socialist commitments made in 1976 for the extraction of coal and the achievement of high quality indicators in work" [1] .
He was elected a deputy to the 10th Supreme Soviet of the USSR and a delegate to the XXVI CPSU Congress .
He died in 2002 after a long illness.
