Geography
The village is located 20 km from Gorodets and 38 km. from Nizhny Novgorod . The village is divided into two parts by a ravine. In the past, the village of Volkopelikha was located on one side of the ravine, but then they were combined into one administrative unit - Melenki .
Title
According to legend, the name of the village comes from windmills, which were located near the village [2] .
