Hannah Waddingham ( born Hannah Waddingham ; born November 16, 1974 in Wandsworth, London) is an English actress and singer . She is best known for her West End musical theater performances, especially in the productions of Spamalot , Night Music, Into the Forest , and the more recent production of The Wizard of Oz, where she played the Wicked Witch of the West. For her work, she received three nominations for the Laurence Olivier Award . She also has a successful career in film and television. In 2015, she joined the cast of the fifth season of the HBO series “ Game of Thrones ” as Septa Unella. [2]

Career
Weddingham is a graduate of the Academy of Living and Recorded Arts. She has a successful career in the London Theater, she is especially known for her performance as Susanna Valadon in "Lautrec" [3] .
However, she gained widespread recognition for her role as Lady of the Lake in Spamalot , for which she received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination . She received praise for her portrayal of Desiree Armfeldt staged by Trevor Nunn “Night Music”. One of the critics called it the " Joanna Lumley Musical Theater" [4] . Weddingham subsequently received the following Laurence Olivier Award nomination in 2010 as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance in Night Music [5] .
In mid-2010, Weddingham played the Witch in the critically acclaimed production of " Into the Forest " at the Open Air Theater in London [6] [7] .
She played the role of the Wicked Witch of the West in the West End production of “The Wizard of Oz”, which was shown on March 1, 2011 in the London Palladium [8] . She left the production on September 4, 2011 and was replaced by a stunt double, Marianne Benedict [9] . Weddingham won the whatsonstage.com Theatergoers Choice Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Actress in a Musical for her performance [10] .
In 2012, Weddingham starred in the production of “ Kiss Me, Kat ” at the Chichester Theater Festival [11] . The show was again shown at the Old Vic Theater in November 2012. [12]
