Lofn , or Lovn (Lofn - “comforter” or “loving”) - in Norse mythology, the good goddess asinya , who sanctifies marriages between people.

Mentioned in the " Younger Edda " and kennings of skald poetry.
In the first part of “The Younger Edda,” entitled “ The Vision of Gulvi, ” chapter 35, a character called “The High ” briefly describes the sixteen asynas goddesses. About Lofn, which is the eighth in this description, says the following:
Eighth — Lovn is so kind and supportive of pleading that she wants the All-Father and Frigg to allow the man and the woman to unite, even if he had ordered it before. This is called “permission” by her name, as well as what people “glorify” [1] .
Reflection in modern culture
In 1997, one of the craters on the Jupiter Callisto satellite was named Lofn [2] .
