Biography
He graduated from three classes of the parish school. At the age of 12, he was hired by a boy for assignments to the engineer of the Alexandrovsky plant in Petrozavodsk .
Since 1884, he worked as a mechanic at the Alexander Plant. Since 1906 - member of the RSDLP , one of the leaders of the committee of the Petrozavodsk cell of the RSDLP.
In 1908-1910 he was in exile in the Arkhangelsk province as politically unreliable. In 1910-1914 he lived in Petrozavodsk, was elected an elector of a member of the State Duma.
In 1914-1917 he worked as a mechanic at the New Lesler plant in Petrograd .
In 1917, having returned to Petrozavodsk, he created a Bolshevik cell at the Aleksandrovsky factory, and was elected head of the factory committee.
In 1918 he was elected to the Olonets Provincial Executive Committee, was appointed Provincial Commissar of Labor.
Member of the defensive battles near Petrozavodsk, political commissar in the special forces (1919).
Since 1921, a member of the provincial emergency commission (Cheka), chairman of the control commission (1921-1926).
He was later appointed People's Commissar of the Workers and Peasants Inspection of the Autonomous Karelian SSR .
He died after a serious long illness. He was buried in Petrozavodsk at the war memorial on Lenin Square .
Memory
In 1987 in Petrozavodsk on the street. Kalinin installed a monument to N. T. Grigoryev [1] .
