Tasks of Ornithology

Among the tasks of ornithology: the study of species diversity and the number of individuals in the study area, the study of the taxonomy , ethology , physiology and ecology of birds ( banding of birds , bird migration ), phenology of birds, the protection of rare species ( death of birds on power lines , artificial nesting for birds , ornithological wildlife preserves ), propaganda ( World Migratory Bird Day, Bird Day , International Bird Day, Ornithologist Day , Bird of the Year in Russia ) and much more.

Ornithological Methods

Research is conducted in many ways. The simplest is surveillance ( birdwatching ).

Some studies are conducted using the bird banding method. For this, birds are caught with special nets or cages [2] , put on rings and released.
