Biography

In 1959 he graduated from Dnepropetrovsk State University .

  • 1964-1968 Jr., Senior Researcher, Laboratory of Fodder Crops,
  • 1968-1975 Scientific Secretary
  • 1975-1980 head of the laboratory of feed crops VNII corn.
  • 1980-2001 Director of the Institute of feed of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Academy of Agricultural Sciences).

Since 2002 - Advisor to the Directorate of the Institute of Feed of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences, Head of the Department of Breeding and Seed Production of Legumes.

Doctor of Agricultural Sciences (1979), Professor (1980), Corresponding Member of the Agricultural Academy of Agricultural Sciences (1988). Academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences (1989), foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (2014). He has published over 1000 scientific papers, including 23 monographs. Received 125 copyright certificates and patents for inventions.

Basic research in the field of selection, seed production of leguminous crops, fodder production.

  • He made a significant contribution to the study of biology and technology for the cultivation of feed crops, the production of feed and protein.
  • The author of an innovative approach to reforming agriculture, determining the optimal ratio between arable land, meadows and pastures, stopping soil degradation, and improving the environment.
  • Under his leadership and with direct participation, a feed production system was developed taking into account the soil and climatic conditions. He is a co-author of 65 varieties of crops, zoned in Ukraine and Russia.

Laureate of the State Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR (1988), the prize "For Outstanding Achievements in Agricultural Science" (1997), "Inventor of the USSR" (1985). Has a Letter of Thanks from the Pope (2001).
