In 1997 he graduated from the National University of Physical Education and Sports . Trainer - Lesovoy V.O.

At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, together with R. Sharipov , A. Svetlichny , Yu. Ermakov , O. Kosyak , I. Korobchinsky and G. Misyutin won bronze medals. Ukraine skipped ahead of Russia and China and less than two tenths of a point ahead of Belarus.

In 1996, Shamenko was awarded the Badge of Honor of the President of Ukraine [1] .
