Oleg Anatolievich Baranov (born March 16, 1969 , Potsdam , East Germany ) is a Russian figure in the internal affairs bodies, lieutenant general of the police (2017). Biography
Born March 16, 1969 in the city of Potsdam (German Democratic Republic, since 1990 - the Federal Republic of Germany ) [1] .
He began his work in the police since 1989 as a policeman at the 173rd police station in Moscow. In 1999 he graduated from the Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia (now the Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia named after V. Ya. Kikot ) [1] .
From 2000 to 2001, he served as the head of the 4th branch of the Regional Operational Investigation Bureau (in the Southeast Administrative District of Moscow ) of the Central Regional Office for Combating Organized Crime at the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 2001, he was appointed head of the 3rd branch of the organized crime department of the Department of the Interior of the South-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow [1] .
In 2003, he was appointed deputy head of the department for combating organized crime at the Internal Affairs Directorate of the South-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow - head of the 1st operational-search unit. Since 2004 - Head of the Department for Combating Organized Crime at the Internal Affairs Directorate in the South-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow [1] .
In 2006, Baranov was transferred to the Central Internal Affairs Directorate in the city of Moscow, where he became deputy head of the Office for Combating Organized Crime - head of the 1st operational-search unit. In 2008, he took the post of Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate in Moscow [1] [3] .
On May 6, 2011, after re-certification in connection with the reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Baranov was awarded the special rank of βPolice Colonel β [1] .
In July 2011, Baranov headed the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow. By a decree of the President of the Russian Federation of June 14, 2012, he was awarded the special title of β Major General of the Police β [1] [4] .
On August 10, 2012, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Baranov was appointed to the post of deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow - head of the police [1] [5] [6] , the criminal search of Moscow was headed by Colonel Alexander Trushkin [7] .
On September 23, 2016, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Baranov was appointed to the post of head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow, replacing Anatoly Yakunin at this post [1] [8] .
On November 10, 2017, by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Baranov was awarded the special rank of βLieutenant General of the Policeβ [9] .
