Biography
After graduating from an academic gymnasium in Lviv , he studied theology in Innsbruck , Vienna and Freiburg .
In 1912 he was ordained. During the First World War - Chaplain (army priest) of the 36th Kolomyia Rifle Regiment of the Austro-Hungarian Imperial Army, who fought on the Italian front .
From the beginning of 1919 - a field confessor, from December of that year - the initial chaplain (general vicar ) of the Ukrainian Galician army .
Since 1920 - a teacher in gymnasiums, professor of the Greek Catholic Theological Academy in Lviv , was a cathedral winger of the metropolitan chapter of the UGCC .
During the Second World War, he organized and headed as the initial chaplain the field clergy of the SS division "Galicia" and the Kuren UPA "Lions" (1943-1945).
Since 1945 - founder and rector of the Ukrainian Theological Seminary (initially, in Germany, since 1948 - in the Netherlands); since 1950 - General and Judicial Vicar of the Edmonton Diocese ( Canada ).
At the same time, since 1964 - Vice-Rector and Professor of the Ukrainian Catholic University in Rome .
He is the author of the works “Bibliina hermeneutics” (1929), “Patrology” (part 1, 1931; part 2, 1932; part 3, 1934; all are Lviv).
It was also published in newspapers and magazines in Edmonton (Theology, Niva, Meta, Ukrainian News).
