Ovchinnikov, Robert Vasilievich

Since 1957, he played ball hockey in the Arkhangelsk "Labor". In 1959, as part of the regional team, he performed at zonal competitions in Yaroslavl, where he was recognized as the best midfielder of the tournament. In the same year he entered the medical institute, became interested in ice hockey. Successfully played in the teams " Petrel " and "Spartak" - 2nd league of class "B".

Even in his student years he was inclined to coaching. Among his first students were later famous young Georgy Kanareikin, Alexander Skardenko and Vitaly Petrovsky. Later, Sergey Nekrasov and Sergey Popov came to the hockey section.

In the Premier League as a member of Vodnik , he played intermittently from 1965 to 1980. He played his first match on January 20, 1966 against the Krasnoyarsk Yenisei . Over 12 seasons in the Premier League, he played 284 matches at Vodnik and scored 12 goals. According to the results of the 1968 season, he was named among the 33 best hockey players of the country .

In 1975 - 1978 he played in the first league as part of the Severodvinsk “ North ”, spent 89 matches and scored 20 goals. In 1977, at the final tournament of the teams of the first league in Novosibirsk, he was recognized as the best defender.

After graduating from a gaming career, he worked as a coach. He headed the team of masters of " Vodnik " for four seasons - 1980 to 1984. In the season 1991-1992 he coached the metropolitan club Fili , who played in the first league.

In 2009, he nominated for the presidency of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation

Has three higher educations. In 1965 he graduated from the Arkhangelsk State Medical Institute (in 1987 received a 3-month specialization in Moscow, in TsOLIUV at the Department of Radiation Hygiene), in 1990 the Arkhangelsk State Pedagogical Institute and in 1992 the Higher School of Trainers in Moscow.
