Utrish is a small island in the Black Sea . It is separated from Cape Bolshoi Utrish by a strait with a minimum width of twenty meters, through which a metal bridge is thrown. On the island there is a lighthouse monument, a small chapel and the structures of a biological station. On the contrary, on the peninsula, is the Utrish Dolphinarium .
Lighthouse Monument
This lighthouse was erected next to the old lighthouse (in the building of which there is now a chapel) in 1975 in memory of all the sailors of the Azov-Black Sea flotilla, as well as the crew of the transport ship “ Fabricius ” (named after Jan Fabrizius ), which during the Great Patriotic War the war was torpedoed by the Germans, and, thanks to the actions of the crew under the command of M. Grigor, was thrown out on the sandbar, and then for a long period of time (about six months) warned of Nazi air force raids on Novorossiysk taking off from an aerodrome near Anapa . The ship itself has long been destroyed, but on the west coast of the island you can still see metal fragments of the hull.
Near the lighthouse is a granite slab with the names of the dead members of the transport crew. Also nearby is a monument to the crew of the Yak-40 aircraft, which crashed in 1976 .
Chapel
An impromptu chapel is located in the old lighthouse.
