Biography
Born into a noble family of nobles. In 1777 he entered the military service as an officer in the cuirassier regiment.
When the revolution broke out (1789), Clermont was forced to flee. Among many other immigrants, he came to Russia , was kindly received at the court and traveled a lot around the country that occupied him with his economic characteristics. Soon he became a member of the Free Economic Society , and in 1799 undertook the publication of the Journal of Agriculture [1] , dedicated to Emperor Pavel Petrovich . The French text belonged to Clermont; Parallel was the Russian translation of Mikhail Borodavkin.
