Alim-Louis Benabi ( born Alim Louis Benabid ; born May 2, 1942 , Grenoble , France ) is a French neurosurgeon. Member of the French Academy of Sciences (2002) [3] , Emeritus Professor at the University of Joseph Fourier. He gained fame as a way to combat Parkinson's disease by electrical stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus.
