The day of the revival of the Balkarian people - March 28, is celebrated annually and is a holiday in Kabardino-Balkaria . Dedicated to the return of the Balkarian people after 13 years of deportation from Central Asia to the Kabardino-Balkarian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic . Established by Decree of the President of the CBD in 1994 [1] .

History
The date of the holiday is due to the restoration in 1957 of the national autonomy of the Kabardino-Balkarian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , after a 13-year exile of the Balkarian people in 1944. Chronology of government acts:
- April 28, 1956 - Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR "On Removing Restrictions on Special Settlement from Crimean Tatars , Balkars , Turks - Citizens of the USSR, Kurds , Khemshills and Members of Their Families Evicted during the Great Patriotic War " [2]
- January 9, 1957 - Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR "On the Transformation of the Kabardin Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic into the Kabardino-Balkarian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic " [3] .
- February 11, 1957 - USSR Law on the approval of the decree of January 9, 1957 [4] .
- March 28, 1957 - Law of the Supreme Council of the KBASSR “On the Transformation of the Kabardian ASSR into the Kabardino-Balkarian ASSR” [5] [6] .
