Kira Grünberg ( German: Kira Grünberg , born August 13, 1993 , Innsbruck , Austria ) - Austrian pole vaulter , six-time champion of Austria - three times outdoors (2012, 2013, 2014) and three times indoors (2013, 2014, 2015 ), the owner of the national record of Austria. Member of the National Council of Austria (since 2017).

Biography and career
Kira Grunberg was born on August 13, 1993 in Innsbruck, Austria. She has an older sister, Brit (born 1991), who was engaged in discus throwing.
Kira made her debut in international competitions in 2009 at the World Championships among youths in Bressanone, where she took 10th place. The best result of her career was a victory at the 2015 European Games in Baku with a record of competitions [2] . From 2012 to 2015, she served in the ground forces of Austria , rising to the rank of corporal .
On July 30, 2015, at a training session in Innsbruck, Kira, after the jump, unsuccessfully landed next to the rug on her head and neck. Her cervical vertebrae were fragmented. After several hours of surgery at the Medical University of Innsbruck, the surgeons made a disappointing diagnosis - Kira has paraplegia , her body remains paralyzed below 5 vertebrae and further continuation of her sports career is impossible [3] [4] . Since then, she has been confined to a wheelchair, she has retained the mobility of the head and arms [5] [6] [7] . He currently lives in the city of Kematen in Tirol .
In 2017, after the parliamentary elections, Kira was elected the tenth representative from the Austrian People’s Party [8] . On November 9, 2017, she assumed the post of deputy of the National Council of Austria [9] .
