Kazakhstan at the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games was represented by eleven athletes in five sports: judo , athletics , powerlifting , swimming , archery . Following the results of the Paralympic Games, Kazakhstani athletes won one gold (“gold” Zulfiya Gabidullina became the first for Kazakhstan in the entire history of the performance at the Paralympic Games) and one silver medal.

Initially, a decree of the Government of Kazakhstan approved the payment of cash incentives to athletes with disabilities who took 1st to 6th place in the Paralympics: for the first place, 50 thousand US dollars are provided, for the second - 35 thousand US dollars, 3 place - 25 thousand US dollars, for 4 place - 14 thousand US dollars, for 5th place - 6 thousand US dollars, for 6th place - 4 thousand US dollars [1] . After the success of the Paralympic athletes, the Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Arystanbek Mukhamediuly announced that the prize of the Paralympic athletes were equalized with the Olympians: payments for the first place reached 250 thousand US dollars, for the second - 150 thousand US dollars [2] .
