The Governor of Phnom Penh ( Khmer. អភិបាល រាជធានី ភ្នំពេញ ) - the highest official of the municipality of Phnom Penh, is the head of the executive branch of government. The governor, as well as the mayor of Phnom Penh, is appointed for a term of five years. Since April 14, 2013, Pa Cochetvong , a member of the People’s Party of Cambodia, holds this position.

History
During the years of the Khmer Rouge rule from 1975 to 1979, Phnom Penh was controlled by the government of Democratic Kampuchea. The data on the governor or the town governor for this period has not been preserved; it is only known that the city was under the direct control of the Central Committee of the Kampuchea Communist Party.
