Dacko, Anton Vladimirovich

Anton Vladimirovich Datsko (born May 24, 1983) - Ukrainian fencer, international master of sports of Ukraine [3] , multiple medalist and winner of the championships and cups of Ukraine, Europe and the world in personal and team competitions, medalist of the 2012 and 2016 Summer Paralympic Games . Since 2011, he has won prizes in all competitions in which he participated. Today, Anton has more than a hundred awards.

Biography

Anton Dacko was born on May 24, 1983 in the city of Busk, Lviv region.

In 1990, he began his studies at the public school No. 1. I tried myself in different forms, but these were temporary hobbies. At the age of 16, an accident occurred: Dacko, climbing a tree, did not notice power lines. Doctors diagnosed with a thoracic spine injury, but the young man returned to school, which he graduated in 2000 [4] .

After graduation, he tried to enroll in the Kamenetz-Podolsk Planning and Economic Boarding School as a tourism manager. In 2001, a guy at a sambor school of boarding men. He graduated in 2003, after which he was offered a job at the Silhouette sewing enterprise in Lviv.

In 2013, he entered the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding for part-time study, where he studies as a trainer.

Sports career

Anton Dacko’s sports career began in 2000-2001, when he took part in recreational games and an active rehabilitation camp. An important event in the guy’s life was his acquaintance with the wheelchair fencing coach Andrei Vitalievich Kolesnikov .

In September 2003, he began to engage in wheelchair fencing. In 2004 he won the first award, third place in category “B” on the foil at the Polish Open Championship; also took part in the World Cup in Warsaw ( Poland ). In May 2005, at the World Cup stage in Lonato ( Italy ), he entered the top eight. In November, he took third place in category “B” on the foil at the European Championships.

In January 2008, he took second place in category “B” on the foil at the World Cup in Malchow ( Germany ). In 2010, he won first place in category “B” on the foil at the World Cup in Eger ( Hungary ); second place at the World Cup in Paris ( France ). In 2011, Anton won the European saber champion title in Sheffield ( England ) and the world rapier and saber champion in Catania (Italy); won the saber World Cup in category "B" [5] .

In 2012, he took second place in category “B” on the foil at the Paralympic Games in London (England); won the world foil cup in category "B". He became an honored master of sports in wheelchair fencing. In 2013, Anton became the world champion in a saber team in Budapest (Hungary), together with Andrei Demchuk and Vadim Zedrik; won the World Cup in foil in category "B" [6] . In 2014, he took part in the European Championship in Strasbourg (France): first place in category “B” on the foil, first place on the saber; first place on the team saber. Anton won the 2014 Hong Kong Wheelchair Fencing Grand Prix. In 2015, at the world championships in Eger (Hungary) he won first place in the team saber; second place on the foil in category "B".

In 2016, he won gold at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro on a saber [7] . In 2017, he won first place at the stage of the world championship in Eger (Hungary), first place at the stage of the World Cup in wheelchair fencing in Pisa (Italy) [8] , second place at the world championship among foil fencers (category “B”) in Rome (Italy) [9] , and the third place in team competitions, due to which the Ukrainian team fell into the top three in the championship [10] .

Rewards

He was awarded the Orders of Merit II (2016) [11] and III (2012) with degrees [12] and the Certificate of Merit of the Lviv Regional Council (as the silver medalist of the XIV Paralympic Games in London) [13] .
