Koshik, Erich

Erich Koshik ( January 3, 1913 - July 21, 1985 ) is a former German canoe sprint. He took part in kayaking and canoeing competitions in the late 1930s.

Biography

Erich Koshik was born on January 3, 1913. He trained at the sports club SV Polizei Hamburg Hamburg.

Sporting Achievements

From 1934 to 1936 he won three times in a row at the German Championship in kayaking and canoeing in the discipline S-1 at a distance of 1000 meters. At the 1934 European Championships in Copenhagen, he won the champion title, being ahead of athletes Joseph Silni and Bohuslav Karlik from Czechoslovakia.

Erich Koshik at the Summer Olympic Games in Berlin won a bronze medal in the discipline S-1 1000 meters.

After the Second World War, he took part in the German championships in kayaking and canoeing. In 1947, he won with his partner Hans Wedeman the title of champion in kayaking and canoeing at a distance of 1000 meters, in 1948 he won at a distance of 10,000 meters.
